Kinsmen Farmer’s Days & Rodeo Exhibition

Mark your calendars for Western Canada’s biggest bluegrass event of the year. You won’t want to miss the Blueberry Bluegrass Festival on the first weekend in August at Exhibition Park in beautiful Stony Plain just minutes from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Cowboy Festival 
August 16 -18, 2019
Heritage Park in Stony Plain


Stony Plain hosts the finest artists from across Canada and the U.S.A to edify, educate, and elucidate the traditional cowboy life and humor in music and prose. The weekend will include cowboy poets, pickers, singers, Chuckwagon Dinner/BBQ and sing-along Bonfire Gathering. Special guest Baxter Black will be at the festival.

Harvest Festival

Stony Plain’s agricultural heritage is exhibited with a yearly old time harvest festival every September.  Celebrate the season at the traditional Community Harvest Festival at the Stony Plain Pioneer Museum.

City Slickers…..  Bring on those kids

September 2019

This is a one-day event held in mid-September.  More than 1100 Grade 4 & 5 students from Edmonton, St. Albert and Parkland School Division spend a full day on the farm, learning about the benefits of eating locally grown, wholesome food.  The City Slickers program brings together farmers, producers and consumers to highlight the partnership.  This event is a project of the Multicultural Heritage Centre.

Great White North Triathlon

July 7, 2019

Stony Plain has been the host-community for the annual Great White North Triathlon since 1991.  This event attracts athletes from around the world.  The challenging race begins with a two-kilometer swim in Hubbles Lake, followed by a grueling 90km bike ride through Parkland County.  Participants finish with a 21-km run in Stony Plain’s scenic residential areas and along its beautiful trail system.
